Executive & Personal Coaching

When did you stop asking what you actually want?

Somewhere between the promotion and the mortgage, most leaders trade their deepest questions for manageable ones. Coaching is where the real questions get asked again — and answered.

“Well crafted words are powerful and can overwhelm us, but only heart-searing questions can unravel us.”
Søren Kierkegaard
What is coaching, really?

Not advice. Not therapy. Not another framework to perform.

Coaching is a disciplined conversation built around the questions you've been avoiding — the ones with your name on them. We clarify what you want, name what's actually in the way, and co-design the beliefs and actions that move you.

Then I champion you through the new action — because insight without follow-through is just a better-decorated cage.

The result is extraordinary outcomes where they count: your work, your closest relationships, and the things that matter most to you.

A short creed

How a heart is transformed.

i.

You are not stuck. You are settled.

Stuck implies you can't move. Settled means you stopped choosing. The difference matters, because settling is reversible — and too often people settle when so much more is available.

ii.

Being precedes doing.

Most goal plans fail because they change the schedule and leave the self alone. We work on who you are becoming first; the doing follows with far less force.

iii.

Courage is a practice, not a personality.

Nobody feels ready. Courageous people act toward their vision anyway, in small repeatable steps — and each step makes the next one more available.

iv.

The right question outworks a hundred answers.

You've heard plenty of advice. What you need is the question that unravels the old pattern — asked by someone with no agenda except your flourishing.

Is this you?

The people who find their way here.

Different titles, same moment: the old way of moving forward has quietly stopped working.

The executive "Why does the success feel heavier than the striving did?"

Your success is real — and it has quietly outpaced your clarity. You're carrying more than you can say out loud, and the next level can't be reached the way you reached this one.

The high performer "I can do anything. So why can't I say what I want?"

You keep every plate spinning and still sense there's more. Not more volume — more meaning. You want a vision worthy of your energy.

The faith leader "Who pastors the pastor?"

You pour out more than gets poured in. You need a place where you're not the shepherd — where someone asks about your soul, your calling, and your limits.

The one in transition "The old map ran out. Now what?"

A career move, an ending, a beginning. The new map isn't drawn yet — and drift will draw it for you if you let it. This is exactly the moment coaching is for.

Brandon Cook

Husband, father, writer, and coach. Educated at Wheaton, Brandeis (magna cum laude), and Oxford (MSt, ancient Judaism) — with fourteen years as a pastor, coach, and trainer in Long Beach, California. Now based in the mountains of Brevard, North Carolina.

"I am passionate about helping people courageously step into their future and into who they are made to be."

Brandon coaches the way he writes: with unhurried attention and honest questions. He also writes poetry and essays, and co-leads Naming the Real — a podcast and community for naming what is real, which is the same work every coaching conversation begins with.

Before you ask

Questions, answered.

What actually happens on the Discovery Call?
A real coaching conversation, not a sales pitch. You talk, I ask. We get your current reality on the table and find one clear step you can take this week — yours to keep whether or not we ever speak again. If coaching fits, I'll show you the pathways. If it doesn't, I'll say so first.
Is this therapy?
No. Therapy heals what's behind you; coaching builds what's ahead of you. We work on vision, obstacles, beliefs, and action. When something needs a therapist's care, I'll be honest about that — good coaching knows its lane.
How does the coaching actually run?
Weekly sessions by phone or video, on a 3, 6, or 12-month rhythm — with 20-minute micro-sessions and email & text access between sessions. It begins with an intake that sharpens your vision before our first deep-dive.
What does the first call cost?
Nothing. The 45-minute Discovery Call is genuinely complimentary — built to create value for your life immediately, whether or not you choose long-term coaching.
I'm a pastor. Is this for me?
Especially. Brandon spent fourteen years pastoring and knows the particular weight of the calling — the pouring out, the isolation, the impossibility of being shepherded in your own congregation. Many of his clients are faith leaders.
